“…listening to 9 amazing pitches from the inaugural fellows. The future of healthtech is pretty exciting if this was anything to go by!” - **Dr Susan Thomas, Director of Google Health, UK.**

🙌 Background to the Fellowship

The BiteLabs Healthtech Fellowship was borne out of our frustrations with the lack of support for clinicians looking to develop careers in healthtech and build impactful digital health products.

The transition for us was certainly a challenge, and we eventually found this to be a problem that countless other clinicians have also faced.

Our 8-week part-time, hybrid fellowship programme is designed to equip extraordinary clinicians with the skills, experience, and network to secure roles in healthtech and life sciences, and to put into practice the skills needed to take a product from idea to launch.

The Fellowship is not designed to perpetuate a brain drain within a health service that is already suffering workforce attrition. It is intended to help clinicians understand where they can offer value outside of traditional patient-facing roles and to develop digital skills alongside a clinical career, rather than necessarily instead of it.

“The BiteLabs programme is such a fantastic opportunity to understand more about the healthtech space, and how you might break into it and develop the skills that are valuable for working in healthtech” - Dr Vishaal Virani, Head of UK Health at Youtube Health.

🔥 Collaborations

We are delighted to announce a new and exciting collaboration with University College London (UCL) through their NHS Industry Exchange Network (IXN). This now means that, beyond the 8-week fellowship, you will be offered the opportunity to work alongside a UCL Computer Science student and dedicated technical mentor to turn your BiteLabs project into a real-world workable prototype.
